Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer
PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a skilled Manufacturing Engineer II to support a world-class organization at the forefront of the global energy industry. Location: Bangor, Maine (Onsite)
Schedule: 1st Shift (flexible start between 7:00 AM โ 9:00 AM)
Pay Rate: $50.36/hour
In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing manufacturing processes for large-scale, high-precision components. Your expertise in CNC programming and process improvement will directly influence efficiency, quality, and production excellence in an essential industry driving global progress.
Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs using Mastercam, Siemens NX, Esprit 2000, or similar platforms (multi-axis milling, turning, grinding).
Validate programs prior to production using Vericut simulation software.
Design and troubleshoot advanced macro-based routines (Fanuc Macro B, Okuma, Siemens, Renishaw probing).
Provide hands-on support to shop floor operations, including real-time programming and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to support machine start-ups, upgrades, and process improvements.
Implement tooling and fixturing strategies to support efficient machining operations.
Create and maintain standard work instructions, inspection protocols, and quality documentation.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, and delivery (SQCD).
Train operators and support teams on CNC programming and process enhancements.
Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing environment.
Bachelorโs degree in Engineering OR High School Diploma/GED with at least 2+ years of manufacturing or operations experience
Minimum of 2+ years of relevant manufacturing experience
Proven experience with CNC programming in a production environment
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze technical challenges
Experience working with large, complex components (up to 50,000 lbs preferred)
Experience with Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls
Proficiency with Mastercam, Siemens NX, Esprit 2000, or other CAM/3D modeling tools
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles
Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Strong project management and organizational skills
