Summary:
Perform high-quality repairs and finishing work on aircraft furniture, both in-shop and onboard aircraft
Apply finishes using spray equipment and manual/mechanical methods
Interpret material specifications to ensure compliance with design and engineering requirements
Coordinate with design teams to meet customer-approved finish standards
Follow and promote safety protocols, 5S standards, housekeeping, and aircraft interior protection practices
Mentor, train, and support junior technicians
Support process improvement initiatives focused on safety, cost reduction, cycle time, and efficiency using Lean Six Sigma principles
Use material tracking systems to manage parts demand, track discrepancies ( squawks ), and complete work sign-offs
Assist in meeting OGSM objectives and initiatives
Step into lead responsibilities when required and help coordinate project execution
Participate in safety audits, 5S audits, and shop equipment maintenance activities
Contribute improvement ideas through continuous improvement programs (e.g., Your Ideas at Work)
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
4+ years of experience in wood finishing processes
Advanced knowledge of cabinet finishing techniques, materials, and products
Experience in aerospace industry preferred
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Must be computer literate
Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 lbs, and work any shift
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
