Your Impact
As a Cabinet Finisher, you'll play a vital role in the creation and restoration of luxury aircraft interiors. From applying flawless finishes to performing intricate repairs, your craftsmanship will ensure every detail meets the highest standards of quality, aesthetics, and customer expectations.
Beyond your technical expertise, you'll help mentor fellow technicians, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to a culture of safety, excellence, and innovation.
What You'll Do
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Perform complex, high-quality repairs on finished aircraft furniture both in the shop and onboard aircraft.
Apply finishes using spray equipment and other manual and mechanical finishing techniques.
Interpret engineering drawings, design specifications, and material requirements to ensure compliance with customer and manufacturing standards.
Collaborate with design teams to ensure finished products align with approved customer samples and design intent.
Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, 5S standards, housekeeping requirements, and aircraft interior protection procedures.
Mentor, train, and support less experienced Cabinet Finishers and technicians.
Lead by example in craftsmanship, quality, and workplace safety.
Utilize material tracking systems to create parts demand, track work progress, document repairs, and complete work sign-offs.
Participate in Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost reduction, and cycle time improvements.
Assist with project coordination, task delegation, and leadership responsibilities when needed.
Conduct safety audits and support team-wide safety initiatives.
Help maintain finishing equipment, tools, and associated safety documentation.
Contribute ideas and recommendations that improve processes, productivity, and workplace efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in wood finishing processes.
Advanced knowledge of cabinet finishing techniques, materials, products, and application methods.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Computer literacy and the ability to utilize material tracking systems and production software.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any assigned shift.
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace industry experience.
Working knowledge of aircraft interior finishing standards, inspection processes, and aerospace manufacturing specifications.
Experience mentoring or training technicians in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
