Role Summary:
This position supports the engineering, build, and sustainment of mission critical defense hardware. The engineer will contribute across the full product lifecycle, combining mechanical design expertise with hands-on involvement in system integration, manufacturing transition, and fielded system support. Success in this role requires technical depth, disciplined execution, and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
Core Responsibilities:
•Translate system concepts into robust mechanical designs suitable for manufacturing and long-term support
•Develop, refine, and maintain hardware designs from early definition through production release
•Provide engineering support during manufacturing ramp-up and ongoing production operations
•Collaborate with systems, electrical, and manufacturing teams to ensure integrated solutions meet program objectives
•Apply configuration control and data management best practices throughout the lifecycle
Required Background
•Demonstrated experience delivering mechanical designs from initial concept through production and sustainment
•Practical proficiency with 3D mechanical design software and associated data/configuration management systems
•Bachelor’s degree in an accredited science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field
•Approximately 5–10 years of professional engineering experience in relevant programs
•Ability to hold an active U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance prior to employment start
Preferred Experience and Attributes
•Background in the design, build, and integration of complex hardware such as:
o Electronic hardware assemblies
o Transportable or fixed shelter systems
o Packaged power distribution equipment
•Proven ability to operate effectively within collaborative, multidisciplinary teams
•Self-motivated contributor with strong communication and interpersonal skills
•Experience providing technical direction or leadership to small or mid-sized engineering groups
•Consistent, positive engagement in team-based development environments
