Your Role & Impact
As a Composite Technician, you’ll play a critical role in the fabrication and assembly of advanced aircraft components. Your expertise in composites and bonding processes ensures structural integrity, performance, and safety—directly contributing to the production of world-class aircraft.
Position Details
Job Type: Full-Time | Consultant (6 Months)
Location: Kinston, NC
Pay: Up to $42.47 per hour
Schedule: Must be flexible to work any shift, including overtime and weekends
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day
Lay out, assemble, pre-fit, and bond composite, metal, and laminate structures
Interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications to execute precise fabrication
Cut, shape, sand, and finish materials to exact standards
Operate autoclaves, ovens, and hydraulic presses to complete bonding cycles
Apply sealants and resins to protect materials and ensure durability
Perform rework, repairs, and quality checks following controlled procedures
Use lay-up tools (optical and hard tooling) to fabricate structural components
Measure and verify parts using precision instruments and shop math
Maintain tool and equipment certification and perform basic machine upkeep
Safely handle and move materials within the manufacturing workflow
Support team productivity by assisting and training others as needed
Adhere to strict safety, OSHA, and quality standards (FOD prevention, clean-as-you-go practices)
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of aviation production experience or equivalent
Hands-on experience with composite lay-ups, bonding, and assembly processes
Proficiency using tools and precision measuring instruments
Strong understanding of safety regulations and quality standards
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical documents
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
High School Diploma or GED (or WorkKeys Assessment completion)
Willingness to work flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends
Ability to complete required training (Health & Safety, Aircraft Familiarization, Quality)
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of aviation production experience
Training in composite fabrication from a vocational school or prior employer
Experience with SAP and Excel for production tracking and reporting
Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities

Pay Details: $42.47 per hour
