In this role, you won’t just install avionics systems — you’ll lead, mentor, problem-solve, and contribute to the successful delivery of world-class aircraft. Your expertise will directly support innovation, safety, and operational excellence across critical aerospace operations.
What You’ll Do
As an Avionics Installer, you will lead and support technicians performing complex avionics and electrical installations while ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance every step of the way.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities Include:
Leading and directing technicians to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification
Coordinating with cross-functional teams to support on-time aircraft delivery
Installing, modifying, and fabricating wiring, electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment using blueprints, engineering drawings, and worksheets
Fabricating wire harnesses, performing terminations, ring-outs, and assisting with functional testing of avionics and electrical systems
Training and mentoring team members on technical procedures and best practices
Supporting Engineering with troubleshooting, repairs, and technical problem resolution
Maintaining accurate logs, records, and documentation
Ensuring all completed work meets regulatory requirements and customer specifications
Enforcing FOD prevention, tool control, 5-S, and all workplace safety standards
Inspecting completed work to ensure defect-free assemblies prior to final inspection
Participating in continuous improvement initiatives including Kaizen and process improvement activities
Assisting with shift coordination and team leadership responsibilities as needed
Properly maintaining shop equipment and assigned tools
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
One of the following:
Two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics plus two (2) years of related work experience
Three (3) years of experience in an avionics or electronic career field
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic computer and keyboarding proficiency
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Working knowledge of company policies, inspection procedures, and process specifications
Ability to adapt quickly to new assignments with minimal disruption to schedules and production goals
Preferred Qualifications
Previous aerospace manufacturing or aircraft completion experience
Experience leading or mentoring technicians in a production environment
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with avionics testing, wiring systems, and aircraft electrical integration
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
