About the Role

As a Digital Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and verifying advanced FPGA-based systems that support next-generation communications and defense technologies. Working in a collaborative, high-performing environment, you’ll help deliver mission-critical solutions that push the boundaries of what’s possible in aviation and national security.

Position Details

• Job Type: Full-Time Contract (12 Months)
  
• Location: Hybrid – San Diego, CA 92128
  
• Schedule: Monday–Friday (9x80 schedule)
  
• Pay Rate: $105.00  per hour 
  
• Experience Level: 5–12+ years
  

What You’ll Do

• Lead and mentor a team of 2–4 VHDL verification engineers
  
• Define and maintain digital logic verification frameworks and architectures for software-defined radio systems
  
• Develop and execute comprehensive verification plans based on design requirements
  
• Simulate and validate FPGA logic designs and system functionality
  
• Troubleshoot simulation failures, identify root causes, and collaborate on solutions
  
• Perform regression testing and produce verification metrics and reports
  
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams (5–7 engineers total)
  

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• Experience with VHDL design and verification methodologies for DoD communications systems
  
• Background in FPGA product lifecycle development (requirements through production release)
  
• Proven ability in technical task management, scheduling, and forecasting
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
  
• Experience developing verification plans, test benches, and functional models
  
• Proficiency with Siemens Questa Simulator
  
• Excellent communication skills across technical and program teams
  
• Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
  
• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
  
   
  

• Active Security Clearance
  
• Experience leading teams with varying skill levels
  
• Knowledge of cost management and metrics reporting
  
• Experience with OSVVM functional verification methodology
  
• Scripting experience in Linux environments (Perl, TCL, Bash, Makefile)
  
• Familiarity with Siemens tools (Lint, Inspect, CDC)
  
• Eligibility for special access program clearances
