In this highly visible role, you’ll serve as the primary lead for contractor safety strategies and initiatives across a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment. You will play a vital role in ensuring contractors, suppliers, and third-party partners operate safely, remain compliant with Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) standards, and contribute to a culture where safety is embedded in every operation.

What You’ll Do
As the Contractor Safety Manager, you will oversee contractor safety management programs, software systems, audits, compliance initiatives, and stakeholder collaboration efforts. Your responsibilities will include:
Contractor Safety & OHSMS Leadership
Lead regional contractor safety initiatives aligned with Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) strategies and goals
Develop and implement contractor safety policies, procedures, programs, and guidance documents
Partner with Procurement, Production, Facilities, Security, and senior leadership to ensure contractor compliance and alignment with safety expectations
Provide technical leadership and oversight to suppliers and contractors regarding safety program requirements
Support the continued evolution of contractor safety culture and organizational change initiatives
Software & Digital Systems Management
Serve as the primary administrator and process owner for contractor safety management software platforms
Configure and manage systems to reflect site-specific risk profiles and compliance requirements
Monitor performance and effectiveness of OHSMS software solutions and contractor safety data
Integrate contractor safety information into incident management systems and reporting tools
Audit, Inspection & Risk Mitigation
Manage contractor audit and inspection programs across regional operations
Conduct audits, generate findings reports, and lead corrective action and recovery plan initiatives
Serve as the health and safety subject matter expert for contractor risk assessments and high-risk work activities
Support continuous improvement efforts through compliance monitoring and corrective action management
Reporting & Program Performance
Track contractor safety performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Participate in investigations involving contractor-related safety incidents
Deliver reports, presentations, and strategic recommendations to leadership teams
Support additional health and safety initiatives as assigned
What You Bring
We’re seeking a proactive safety leader with strong contractor management expertise, technical knowledge, and the ability to influence across multiple business functions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Safety Engineering, or related field — or equivalent professional experience
5+ years of Health & Safety experience within industrial production, manufacturing, or aviation maintenance environments
Proven experience managing contractor safety programs and third-party safety management software
Strong project leadership and cross-functional collaboration experience
Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations
Experience with safety data systems, database management, and digital safety platforms
Proficiency with project management tools and Google Workspace platforms
Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Fluent spoken and written English
Ability to travel domestically up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years managing third-party contractor safety management software platforms
Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations
Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred
Multilingual skills in French, German, or Spanish preferred
Professional safety certifications such as:
CSP
ASP
GSP
SMS
TSP
OSHA 501 or OSHA 511
