Software Engineer (Cloud / DevSecOps Focus)

Location: Hybrid (2 days onsite in Ridley Park, PA or Plano, TX)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay Rate Starting at: $59.87  per hour

Job Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract

Your Role & Impact

As a Cloud Software Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing and delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud solutions. Your work will directly support mission-critical aviation systems—driving innovation, reliability, and performance across a global platform.

You’ll collaborate with forward-thinking engineers and stakeholders to integrate DevSecOps practices, automate infrastructure, and enable faster, safer software delivery.

What You’ll Do

Cloud Architecture & Engineering

• Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
  
• Optimize systems for performance, cost, and reliability
  

Infrastructure & Automation

• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, or similar tools
  
• Develop cloud-native applications and services aligned with best practices
  

DevSecOps & Security

• Integrate security into every phase of the development lifecycle
  
• Implement zero-trust principles, IAM strategies, and automated compliance controls
  
• Manage vulnerability scanning, patching, secret management, and secure artifact repositories
  

Containers & Orchestration

• Deploy and secure containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes
  
• Implement runtime security, RBAC, network policies, and service mesh configurations
  

CI/CD & Deployment

• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools
  
• Enable modern deployment strategies such as blue/green, canary releases, and automated rollback
  

Monitoring & Incident Response

• Establish logging, monitoring, and threat detection systems
  
• Respond to incidents and maintain operational runbooks
  

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Partner with development teams on threat modeling and architecture reviews
  
• Drive improvements aligned with industry standards (NIST, CIS, OWASP)
  
• Document solutions, processes, and system designs
  

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or security-focused roles
  
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  
• Strong programming/scripting skills (Python, Bash, Go, Java, or JavaScript)
  
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM)
  
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools and version control systems (Git)
  
• Deep understanding of DevSecOps practices and cloud security principles
  
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container security
  
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, security protocols, and compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS, OWASP)
  
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  
• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, CCSP, CompTIA Cloud+, etc.)
  
• Experience in the aerospace industry
  
• Familiarity with government or military program environments and compliance requirements
