JOB TITLE: Aircraft Composite Mechanic
LOCATION: Wichita, KS
PAY RATE: $41/hour

    Shift: 2nd Shift (3:30 PM 12:00 AM)

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

    Perform advanced fabrication, rework, and repair of nonmetallic aircraft parts and assemblies

    Apply expertise in bonding techniques, scarfing, ply identification, vacuum bagging, and thermal processing for composite structures

    Perform scarf repairs involving 20+ plies, full-depth/double-sided laminates, varying scarf ratios, and high-contour aircraft structures (stringers, frames, spars, etc.)

    Execute vacuum bagging and thermal cure processes, including high-contour, double bagging, and cure temperatures up to 375 F

    Perform repairs and rework in accordance with engineering intent using electronic work instructions, specifications, model-based definitions, and MRB dispositions

    Verify dimensions using mechanical and electronic precision measurement tools and perform first article inspections (FAI) as needed

    Capture and validate measurement data to meet engineering and configuration requirements

    Inspect fabricated and procured parts and document non-conforming conditions for MRB action

    Perform process surveillance and maintain required quality records and certifications

    Utilize and interpret CAD/CAM tools (or similar systems) to support fabrication and repair activities

    Coordinate with Engineering and cross-functional teams to support materials, processes, and repair development

Requirements:

    Structural Composite Repair Certification (TR009348) required

    Strong experience with composite fabrication, repair, scarfing, ply identification, vacuum bagging, and thermal curing

    Ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, including extended durations

    Must comply with FAA Anti-Drug and Alcohol testing requirements for safety-sensitive work

    Must successfully pass initial repair station screening before starting work

    Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
