In this hands-on role, you’ll support complex spacecraft manufacturing operations involving pneumatic, hydraulic, propulsion, environmental control, and flight systems. Your expertise and attention to detail will directly contribute to the successful assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and quality execution of mission-critical aerospace components.
Position Summary
The Senior Systems Technician is responsible for supporting dynamic aerospace manufacturing operations through precision assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of aircraft and spacecraft systems. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on safety, quality, and execution.
What You’ll Do
Aerospace Systems Installation & Assembly
Support installation of pneumatic tubes and valves, hydraulic systems, hybrid rocket propulsion systems, landing gear, flight control actuators, cabin ECS, and A/C systems
Assemble composite parts and assemblies of varying complexities and sizes
Perform precision drilling operations on composite and metallic structures, including dissimilar material stack-ups
Work hands-on with multiple aerospace fastener types including Hi-Lite, Hi-Lok, and Composi-Lok fasteners
Utilize shop tools and machinery safely and effectively, including drills, die grinders, calipers, and specialized tooling
Manufacturing & Technical Operations
Follow manufacturing work instructions, blueprints, drawings, and digital models to complete assemblies accurately
Provide technical input and operational support related to repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and manufacturing improvements
Ensure quality and efficiency of installations while identifying and resolving manufacturing challenges
Support manufacturing assignments requiring sound judgment and problem-solving skills
Collaboration & Process Excellence
Work collaboratively with technicians, engineers, and cross-functional teams to achieve production goals
Assist with troubleshooting processes and provide guidance when needed
Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain focus on productivity and execution
Maintain accountability for project timelines, deliverables, and workmanship quality
Safety & Compliance
Practice strong safety behaviors and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention at all times
Adhere to company safety procedures, regulatory standards, and manufacturing protocols
Maintain organized workspaces, tool control, and housekeeping standards
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of aircraft fabrication and assembly experience or related industry experience
Hands-on experience in a precision manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of aerospace fasteners and installation methods
Knowledge of proper drill speeds, feeds, and hole tolerance requirements
Proficiency using specialized assembly and repair tools and equipment
Ability to identify, install, and remove common aircraft fasteners
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and digital models
Experience using computer applications to follow manufacturing work instructions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with spacecraft manufacturing or advanced aerospace systems
Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) training or certification
Experience using hand drills, power feed drills (PFD), Jiffy/E-Tech tools, and Setti Tec equipment
Knowledge of current and emerging manufacturing technologies and practices
Experience troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning systems
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools
Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical teams
Ability to adapt quickly, think critically, and contribute to problem-solving efforts
Safety-focused mindset with strong housekeeping and tool control practices
