Your Impact
As a Senior Stress Engineer, you will serve as a technical authority supporting major engineering initiatives involving metallic and composite airframe structures. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve highly complex engineering challenges while balancing technical performance, cost, and program schedules.
You’ll play a critical role in advancing aerospace technologies and ensuring structural integrity across aircraft development and modification programs.
What You’ll Do
Key responsibilities include:
Perform static and fatigue analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures
Conduct classical stress analysis for metallic and composite airframe components
Support aircraft modification and repair projects including STC, MRB, and service-related activities
Utilize Catia V5 to support structural analysis and drawing release activities
Review and interpret 2D engineering drawings
Develop and evaluate engineering methods, techniques, and criteria to resolve complex structural issues
Recommend innovative engineering solutions that improve product quality, performance, and effectiveness
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in a highly technical environment
Support certification efforts including composite allowable testing requirements
Contribute to engineering standards, processes, and best practices
Work independently with minimal supervision while providing technical leadership and guidance to peers
Balance technical objectives with program cost and schedule requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
10+ years of experience in a specific engineering discipline OR 15+ years of broad engineering experience across multiple technical disciplines
Strong background in classical stress analysis
Experience performing static and fatigue analysis on metallic aircraft structures
Experience with Catia V5
Experience reviewing 2D engineering drawings
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in Engineering or related field
Experience with composite structure static analysis using aerospace industry methods
Knowledge of composite allowable testing and certification requirements
Experience with aircraft modifications and repairs (STC, MRB, or Service)
Familiarity with Patran/Nastran
Experience working in collaborative engineering environments
Ability to serve as a recognized technical authority and mentor within engineering teams
