Job Title: Aerospace Mechanic
Job Type: Full time; Consultant (4 Months)
Location: Maxwell AFB, AL
Schedule: Monday to Friday; 1st Shift Start: 0700
1st Shift End: 1530 Monday - Friday
2nd Shift Start: 1500
2nd Shift End: 0100 Monday - Thrusday
Some weekend shift available to comp time on Saturdays
Pay Rate: $36.55 to $48.00 per hour
As an Aerospace Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and modifying aerospace systems and aircraft components. Daily responsibilities include:
Perform assembly, disassembly, overhaul, and modifications of aircraft systems and components
Troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, avionics, and electromechanical systems
Conduct daily inspections, launch/recovery operations, and aircraft servicing
Perform maintenance, repair, fabrication, and testing of conventional weapons systems and related equipment
Install and remove fire control systems, navigation systems, subassemblies, and test equipment
Complete pre-test, functional, operational, electrical, and final system testing
Execute configuration changes to aircraft systems based on mission requirements
Support explosive operations including loading, unloading, arming, and safing assigned munitions
Maintain accurate maintenance records, forms, and system documentation
Ensure all work meets regulatory, contractual, and flight-worthiness standards
Maintain tool accountability, organized workspaces, and safety compliance
Assist with training and mentoring team members as needed
High School Diploma or GED
4+ years of related aerospace, aviation, or military maintenance experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Helicopter maintenance experience including inspections, launch/recovery, and servicing
Military aviation avionics experience
Experience with maintenance documentation, forms, and computer databases
Ability to use specialized avionics tools and diagnostic equipment
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
U.S. Air Force Aviation Maintenance experience
Helicopter maintenance experience in military environments
Flightline operations experience
Prior experience supporting reserve or active-duty military units

Assignment Length: Through September 30, 2026
Pay Rate: Starting at $36.55/hour
Shift Flexibility Required: Must be available to work all shifts as program needs change
1st Shift: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday | 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Weekend Opportunities: Some Saturday shifts available for comp time
