In this role, you’ll help ensure products are built and delivered on time by coordinating production schedules, analyzing material availability, and collaborating across procurement, logistics, engineering, and manufacturing teams. Your expertise will play a key role in supporting customer commitments, improving planning processes, and driving operational success.
What You’ll Do
As a Production Planner, you will independently manage planning activities and execute production schedules while working within established professional standards and practices. Responsibilities include:
Plan, organize, control, and execute production schedules for designated aerospace products and programs
Develop schedules based on customer demand forecasts, material availability, production capacity, and operational priorities
Analyze production inputs including cycle times, urgency, logistics, and procurement requirements
Coordinate with internal teams to assess the impact of customer scheduling changes
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of material requirements planning (MRP) data
Revise production plans based on actual performance versus forecasts
Manage engineering change impacts to minimize excess materials, costs, and shipment risks
Support new product introductions and product transfer/de-transfer activities
Communicate material availability and shipment commitments throughout the product lifecycle
Monitor inventory exposure, backlog, on-time delivery performance, and product availability
Develop recovery plans for missed shipments and delivery challenges
Lead continuous improvement initiatives within planning and fulfillment processes
Provide guidance, training, and support to less experienced team members
Collaborate cross-functionally with customers, suppliers, procurement, logistics, and manufacturing teams
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant production planning or manufacturing planning experience
At least 2 years of hands-on Production or Execution Planning experience using SAP
Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, materials management, and production scheduling fundamentals
Experience with MRP systems and manufacturing control systems
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace tools
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the aerospace or electronics manufacturing industry
Knowledge of purchasing principles, procurement coordination, and supply chain operations
Experience supporting new product introductions (NPI)
Continuous improvement or process optimization experience
Ability to build strong working relationships across departments and with external partners
