In this contract role, you’ll play a critical part in the aircraft finishing process by preparing surfaces for paint and primer applications while helping maintain the highest standards of safety, craftsmanship, and quality. 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

As an Aircraft Paint Prep Technician, your day-to-day responsibilities will include: 

• Surface Preparation: Sanding, masking, filling, and washing aircraft surfaces to prepare them for painting. 

• Taping: Ensuring precise taping of components to ensure paint is applied only where required. 

• Cleanliness & Organization: Keeping the workspace tidy and organized, while adhering to cleanliness standards as directed by leads and supervisors. 

• Efficient Work Practices: Maintaining minimal scrap levels while ensuring the highest quality output. 

• Collaboration: Working closely with team members to ensure seamless and efficient operations in the paint prep process. 

What You Bring to the Role: 

Required Qualifications: 

• Minimum of 6 months of related experience in surface preparation or painting in industrial, automotive, or aviation industries. 

• Ability to follow directives for surface preparation and layout taping. 

• Basic physical abilities to perform lifting, carrying, and maneuvering tools and equipment (up to 30lbs/14kgs). 

• Must be able to work with various office and production equipment, including hydraulic lifts, and operate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Aviation-related paint experience is a plus, though not mandatory. 

• A keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality in every task.
