PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace industry innovator to hire a highly skilled Quality Inspector who is passionate about precision, compliance, and aircraft safety. In this critical role, you’ll perform detailed inspections on aircraft components, structures, systems, and assemblies while ensuring compliance with FAA, EASA, and company standards. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity and safety of aerospace products that support missions around the world.
What You’ll Do
Inspection & Quality Assurance Responsibilities (60%)
Perform technical inspections to receive or reject incoming materials, airframes, and aircraft components
Conduct in-process inspections in manufacturing, composites, MRO, paint shop, and electrical backshop environments
Inspect aircraft aluminum, titanium, and steel structures for cracks, corrosion, damage, and assembly defects
Perform dimensional inspections, acoustic tap testing, and visual inspections using precision measurement tools
Verify aircraft wiring harnesses, connectors, and electrical terminations per engineering drawings
Detect hidden damage occurring during shipping, receiving, or manufacturing processes
Validate structural assembly, shimming, riveting, and hardware installation to approved design data
Conduct conformity inspections for STC projects, PMA parts, structural systems, and electrical components
Observe and validate functional testing of aircraft radios, navigational systems, flight controls, ELTs, transponders, altimeters, and air data computers
Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and life-limited component requirements
Quarantine and document non-conforming components and assemblies
Documentation & Compliance Responsibilities (30%)
Maintain accurate quality documentation and inspection records
Create and manage non-conformance reports (QN/NCs) and coordinate resolutions with Quality Engineers
Verify required airworthiness documentation including 8130-3s, EASA Forms, and Certificates of Conformance
Process Goods Receipts and track shelf-life expiration reporting within SAP
Research airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and technical documentation
Prepare aircraft components and systems for return to service after maintenance, repair, overhaul, or modification
Compose delivery documentation supporting airworthiness certification and release activities
Continuous Improvement & Team Support (10%)
Support quality audits, special projects, and continuous improvement initiatives
Review quality procedures and documentation for accuracy and compliance
Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, integrity, and operational excellence
Contribute process improvement ideas using lean methodologies
Support departmental meetings, training efforts, and company initiatives
Required Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience
Minimum 4 years of quality inspection experience on aircraft components and systems
OR
6 years as a certificated Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) working on aircraft component systems
Licensure & Certifications
Current/Valid FAA Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License required for external candidates
Ability to obtain an Airman’s Certificate within 90 days for internal candidates
Knowledge & Skills
Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and regulatory documentation
Experience using inspection tools and precision measurement equipment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively across multiple operational areas
Preferred Qualifications
Associate Degree in Aviation or related field
6+ years of diversified Helicopters product experience
FAA Inspection Authorization (IA)
FCC 2nd Class License
Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) Certification
SAP or aerospace quality systems experience
Physical Requirements
This position requires daily onsite work in active aerospace production and maintenance environments.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs/14 kgs daily
Ability to stand, walk, squat, kneel, and work throughout production areas
Ability to read engineering drawings and electronic screens daily
Ability to wear required PPE including safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, and protective gloves
Ability to travel up to 15% annually as needed
