Summary:
Provide technical leadership and expertise in the testing, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance of aircraft avionics and electrical systems to ensure defect-free aircraft operations.
Perform operational and functional testing of avionics/electronic systems and components in accordance with engineering specifications, blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
Lead troubleshooting and repair efforts to minimize schedule impact while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Train and mentor technicians on avionics installation, troubleshooting procedures, repair techniques, and system testing processes.
Support engineering changes, aircraft modifications, certification activities, and final phase testing, including potential flight test support.
Maintain compliance with company documentation procedures, safety programs, FOD control, tool control, and 5S requirements.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support aircraft production, maintenance, and modification activities.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 6 years of experience in an avionics/electrical career field; OR
2 years of accredited aviation electronics schooling plus 4 years of related experience.
Strong experience with:
Aircraft avionics systems
Electrical system troubleshooting and repair
Operational and functional testing
Wiring repair, splicing, soldering, and pinning
Ability to read and interpret:
Blueprints
Electrical schematics
Engineering drawings
Maintenance manuals
Experience setting up and operating avionics/electrical test equipment.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-training abilities in a production or maintenance environment.
Ability to document maintenance and testing activities accurately and completely.
Strong understanding of aircraft safety procedures, FOD control, tool control, and quality standards.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
FAA A&P License, FCC License, or NCATT Certification preferred.
Experience troubleshooting additional aircraft systems including:
Hydraulics
Landing gear
Flight controls
Environmental systems
Structural installations and repairs
APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred.
Self-inspection capability for avionics testing functions.
