Summary:
Lead development, integration, and documentation of structural requirements for aerospace and launch vehicle systems across multiple defense and aerospace programs.
Perform advanced structural strength analysis including vehicle loads interpretation, stress calculations, margins of safety, and fracture assessments to ensure structural integrity and service life requirements.
Develop and utilize analytical methods, Finite Element Models (FEM), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to validate structural performance throughout the product lifecycle.
Lead structural analysis planning and execution at the program level to ensure compliance with structural integrity, stability, and certification requirements.
Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams to establish product environments, support testing activities, analyze test data, and document certification results.
Investigate structural failures, recommend design improvements, and develop analytical tools/processes to improve engineering quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Prepare and review detailed stress reports and technical documentation in compliance with aerospace program standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry, or related technical field; ABET accreditation preferred.
Typically 9+ years of aerospace structural analysis or related engineering experience.
Strong experience with aerospace structural hardware and launch vehicle structures.
Expertise in Finite Element Method (FEM) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA), including NASTRAN.
Experience performing:
Structural stress analysis
Vehicle loads interpretation
Margins of safety calculations
Structural integrity assessments
Fracture assessments and service life analysis
Strong technical writing and stress reporting skills.
Experience with structural analysis tools such as NASTRAN, Patran, and CSW.
Experience with CAD/design tools including CATIA, Creo, or NX CAD.
Ability to lead structural analysis activities and coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines and programs.
Strong adaptability and ability to support multiple aerospace/defense projects in a fast-paced onsite environment.
Must be a U.S. citizen to comply with security clearance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Leadership experience supporting engineering teams or program-level structural analysis efforts.
Experience developing analytical tools and engineering processes to improve efficiency and quality.
Advanced experience with fracture mechanics and damage tolerance analysis.
Significant experience supporting aerospace and defense launch vehicle programs.
Ability to ramp up quickly across multiple programs and engineering environments.
