Location: Wichita, KS | Payrate: $57 - $62.50/hour | Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
About the Role
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer who will help design and deliver cutting-edge electronics for motors, actuators, and advanced electromechanical systems. In this hands-on role, you’ll own the full product lifecycle—from concept through production—developing high-reliability solutions that power mission-critical aerospace, defense, and industrial applications.
What You’ll Do
Design and develop analog and digital circuits for motors, actuators, and control/interface electronics
Develop electronic drive solutions and interface circuitry to meet customer and system requirements
Perform circuit simulation, component selection, derating analysis, and design trade studies
Oversee PCB layout to ensure performance, packaging, and design integrity
Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams to integrate electronics into complete assemblies, including thermal and packaging considerations
Create and maintain schematics, BOMs, specifications, drawings, and test documentation
Conduct FMEA, MTBF/reliability analysis, and design reviews to ensure robust performance
Support prototype builds, troubleshooting, validation, qualification, and environmental testing
Use lab equipment to debug, test, and validate electronic hardware
Interface directly with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges
Support production transition, pilot builds, and ongoing product improvements
Contribute to high-reliability engineering solutions in aerospace and defense environments
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
5–7 years of experience in analog and digital circuit design for electromechanical or high-reliability products
Experience with electronic drives, interface electronics, and component selection
Proven experience supporting full product lifecycle (concept through release and sustaining)
Hands-on experience with prototyping, troubleshooting, and testing
Strong understanding of schematic capture, board-level design, and PCB layout review
Experience performing FMEA and reliability analysis
Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Willingness to support both new product development and sustaining engineering
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of DO-160 and/or MIL-STD-810 standards
Experience with tools such as Cadence OrCAD, Ansys Electronics Desktop, Mathcad, Autodesk Inventor, and document control systems
Familiarity with motor drives, power electronics integration, and PCB packaging
Experience with qualification and environmental testing, and customer technical reviews
Background in aerospace, defense, industrial, or motion-control environments
Experience integrating electronics into compact electromechanical assemblies
