PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a premier leader in the aviation industry, to hire a Principal Electrical Engineer for an exciting opportunity supporting advanced avionics test engineering. Role Summary & Impact
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing manufacturing test solutions for cutting-edge avionics systems used by commercial airlines, defense organizations, and global aerospace customers.
This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated multi-rack test stations, troubleshoot mission-critical systems, and collaborate with engineering teams worldwide to ensure quality, performance, and reliability across high-value aerospace products.
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day
Develop, troubleshoot, and improve hardware and software test solutions for avionics products
Support manufacturing and service test systems used in production environments
Work with multi-rack automated test stations and complex electronic equipment
Utilize tools such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, power supplies, and electronic loads
Support thermal and vibration testing systems for environmental stress screening
Reverse engineer existing equipment and create clear technical documentation
Review and verify automated test procedures and software updates
Assist with automated test software development (LabVIEW/C# preferred)
Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and cross-functional engineering teams
Present technical updates to management, peers, and customers
Delegate tasks and support technicians and project assistants as needed
Apply best practices for workflow, quality, and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics
Experience working with RF (Radio Frequency) devices
Strong communication, teamwork, and technical documentation skills
Ability to work onsite in Melbourne, FL
Willingness to complete 4–6 weeks of onsite training Monday–Friday
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with LabVIEW and/or C# software development
Avionics product knowledge or aerospace industry experience
Experience supporting manufacturing test environments
Background with automated test equipment and environmental testing systems
Proven ability to multitask in fast-paced technical environments

Pay Details: $81.89 per hour
