Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Aircraft Painters for a contract opportunity in Greenville, SC.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): Interpret marking drawings to accurately apply both major and minor interior/exterior aircraft markings and decals. Prepare aircraft surfaces by washing, cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure they are free from contaminants and ready for high-quality painting. Utilize various tools such as grinders, sanders, paint guns, and measuring devices to prepare and paint aircraft surfaces, parts, and components. Maintain and troubleshoot painting equipment to ensure its operational effectiveness and longevity within the aerospace industry. Work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, Foreign Object Debris (FOD)-free work area. Mission essential functions and other duties may be assigned as required.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Coats surfaces of aircraft with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices, removes old paint from aircraft, using liquid paint remover and scraper. Smoothes surface with sandpaper and steel wool, roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to insure that paint adheres to surface, masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted, and paint insignia, letters or numerals on aircraft surface, using stencils.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must complete a post-offer medical exam prior to the start. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear. Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work on or in the aircraft. Frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds. Perform repetitive movements and work overhead. Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform job tasks. The employee is regularly exposed to vibration. ****Respirator certification is required-
