Position Details

Job Title: Operations Lead
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Assignment)
Location: Windsor Locks, CT 06096
Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $38.93 per hour (commensurate with experience)
 

Your Impact in This Role

As an Operations Lead, you will be at the center of manufacturing performance, ensuring safety, quality, compliance, and delivery goals are achieved. You will collaborate with program managers, site operations, and product line teams to optimize inventory strategies, production schedules, and readiness plans that keep aerospace programs on track.

What You’ll Do

  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and compliance across operations.
  • Partner with Program Managers to provide clear internal and customer communication regarding manufacturing plans and operational performance.
  • Drive rapid resolution of issues involving quality, supply chain, and operational performance.
  • Develop inventory strategies and production schedules based on demand forecasts, lead times, capacity constraints, and material availability.
  • Identify future risks to operational performance and proactively implement mitigation plans.
  • Facilitate burndown of Supplier Requests for Information (SRI) and First Article Inspection (FAI) activities.
  • Support last-time-buy (LTB) and material substitution efforts to maintain component availability.
  • Provide key inputs into the SIOP process.
  • Support Product Line Teams with rate readiness assessments, gap analysis, and action plans for labor, equipment, and tooling capacity.

Required Qualifications

  • University degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; OR
  • Advanced degree in a related field with 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience in Quality, Operations, or Supply Management, including new product introduction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SI&OP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) processes.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills with experience resolving operational challenges.
  • Knowledge and application of continuous improvement tools.
  • Aerospace or aviation manufacturing experience preferred.

Pay Details: $38.93 per hour
