PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Technician to join a leading company in the aviation industry in West Des Moines, IA. In this role, you’ll help assemble, test, troubleshoot, and improve critical systems and components that support cutting-edge aviation technology.

What You’ll Do

As a Manufacturing Technician, you’ll play an essential role in production operations by ensuring products are built to precise specifications, tested thoroughly, and ready to perform at the highest standards.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Operate production equipment safely and efficiently
• Construct, maintain, and test mechanical systems and assemblies
• Read and follow blueprints, diagrams, and product specifications
• Use hand tools, measuring instruments, diagnostic tools, computers, and lasers
• Perform troubleshooting, calibrations, modifications, and repairs as needed
• Ensure products meet quality standards and tolerance requirements
• Maintain accurate production records including test data, time changes, and parts usage
• Provide technical feedback and solutions to engineering teams
• Assist with prototype builds and component design when needed
• Support continuous improvement, environmental health & safety, and quality initiatives
• Cross-train in multiple skill areas and mentor new technicians as needed
• Work overtime or extended shifts based on business needs

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or using small hand tools
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment or systems
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and technical instructions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work onsite in West Des Moines, IA
• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with electromechanical systems or production equipment
• Familiarity with measuring tools and diagnostic equipment
• Previous aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing experience
• Experience training or mentoring team members
• Strong computer skills and data entry accuracy
