Lead Critical Aviation Safety Investigations as an Airworthiness & Regulatory Engineer
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Airworthiness & Regulatory Engineer to support a leader in the aviation industry in Everett, WA. In this position, you’ll lead complex investigations, collaborate with engineering and executive teams, and help ensure aircraft programs continue to meet the highest airworthiness and regulatory standards.
What You’ll Do
As part of the Safety & Compliance Investigations team, you will independently lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations tied to regulatory compliance matters and safety concerns across the aircraft lifecycle.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Lead investigations involving FAA Letters of Investigation, compliance actions, voluntary disclosures, self-audit findings, and Part 25 airworthiness non-compliances
Guide cross-functional teams across Systems, Structures, Payloads, and Propulsion through structured investigation processes
Define problem statements, identify systemic root causes, and develop effective containment and prevention actions
Coordinate with engineering teams, leadership, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and communication
Partner with Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) teams to ensure investigation documentation meets regulatory expectations
Drive continuous improvement of compliance tools, processes, and readiness initiatives
Present technical findings clearly to leadership, engineers, and external stakeholders including regulatory agencies and airline customers
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of related professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects
Strong organizational skills with ownership mindset and attention to detail
Ability to work 100% onsite in Everett, WA
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with RCCA tools such as 5-Whys, Fishbone, or structured problem-solving methodologies
Knowledge of commercial aircraft operations, certification, safety requirements, and procedures
Familiarity with FAA regulatory compliance and ODA procedures
Experience working directly with FAA or other regulatory agencies
Background in aircraft systems design, systems analysis, or systems integration
Pilot’s License or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
Bachelor’s degree or advanced education in a relevant technical discipline

Pay Details: $63.04 per hour
