PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire an experienced Stress Engineer who will drive the successful execution of major engineering programs and solve highly complex technical challenges. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned professional ready to influence design, production, and innovation across advanced aircraft systems.
Role Overview
As a Stress Engineer, you will serve as a technical authority, guiding engineering initiatives from concept through production. You’ll tackle complex structural and analytical challenges, develop solutions that balance performance, cost, and schedule, and help shape the future of aircraft design and reliability. Your expertise will directly contribute to the advancement of next-generation aerospace products.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the resolution of complex engineering issues using advanced methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria
Serve as a recognized technical authority, providing guidance and consultation across teams
Anticipate technical challenges and develop innovative, effective solutions
Balance technical performance, cost, and schedule in all problem-solving efforts
Define technical objectives and make high-impact decisions with minimal supervision
Develop standards, processes, and best practices for engineering activities
Conduct static and fatigue analysis of metallic and composite airframe structures
Support design and stress analysis using CATIA V5 and review 2D engineering drawings
Contribute to aircraft modifications, repairs, and certification efforts (STC, MRB, Service)
Stay current with industry advancements and recommend innovations to improve product quality and effectiveness
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure program success
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
10+ years of experience in a specific technical discipline, or 15+ years of broad engineering experience across multiple disciplines
Strong background in classical stress analysis and structural evaluation
Experience performing static and fatigue analysis of airframe structures (metallic and/or composite)
Proficiency with CATIA V5 and experience reviewing engineering drawings
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Engineering or related field
Experience with composite structural analysis, testing, and certification requirements
Familiarity with Patran/Nastran or similar analysis tools
Experience supporting aircraft modifications and repairs (STC, MRB, or service engineering)
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong collaboration skills and ability to thrive in team-oriented environments
