PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a dynamic and engaging Training Specialist to support a leading aviation manufacturer in Everett, WA. In this 6-month consulting opportunity, you will play a key role in delivering high-impact 5S and Lean training programs that strengthen workplace organization, safety, and operational efficiency across production teams.

What You’ll Do

As a Training Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, hands-on training sessions that bring Lean principles to life across the shop floor. Your work will ensure teams understand, adopt, and sustain 5S practices that improve safety and productivity.

Key responsibilities include:

• Facilitating 5S Overview Training sessions for groups of 20+ participants in a classroom and manufacturing environment
• Delivering engaging instruction on 5S principles, visual management, and workplace organization
• Coordinating training schedules with production teams to minimize operational disruption
• Collaborating with program supervisors and continuous improvement teams to align training content with site goals and compliance standards
• Supporting multiple shifts and locations across the Puget Sound region as needed
• Developing and executing follow-up action plans to ensure sustainment of 5S practices
• Building rapport with operators, supervisors, and unionized teams to encourage participation and adoption
• Tracking attendance, training materials, and participant records with strong organizational discipline
• Addressing resistance to change and driving continuous improvement adoption across teams

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Master’s + 4 years, or 10+ years total experience)
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or continuous improvement environments
• Demonstrated experience delivering large-group training sessions
• Strong knowledge of 5S and Lean manufacturing principles
• Excellent verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to engage diverse and unionized teams
• Strong organizational and scheduling skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work across multiple shifts and travel between sites in the Puget Sound area
• Reliable transportation and strong safety awareness

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal Lean or 5S facilitator certification
• Experience in aerospace or high-regulation manufacturing environments
• Background in continuous improvement, operational excellence, or training development
• Familiarity with visual management systems and sustainment strategies
