As a Machinist, you won’t just run machines—you’ll help create precision components that keep the aerospace industry moving forward. From raw materials to flight-ready parts, your craftsmanship directly contributes to safety, performance, and cutting-edge engineering. 

What You’ll Do Every Day 

You’ll work hands-on in a dynamic shop environment, producing high-quality aerospace components using a mix of CNC and conventional machining: 

• Mill, drill, bore, and ream parts from extrusions, forgings, plate, and assemblies  

• Operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines with various controls  

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering orders, and technical instructions  

• Set up machines (with varying levels of independence depending on experience level)  

• Use precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet exact specifications  

• Perform basic CNC program control at the machine  

• Conduct preventative maintenance and maintain equipment calibration  

• Troubleshoot machining and quality issues  

• Collaborate with engineering, quality, tooling, and scheduling teams  

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace while following all PPE requirements  

 
 Work Environment & Physical Requirements 

• Regular standing, bending, crouching, and repetitive motion  

• Lift up to 50 lbs independently (more with assistance)  

• Exposure to machine noise, metal dust, and general shop conditions  

Qualifications 

Required 

• Multi-Axis (3, 4, 5) PREFERRED

• Siemens Controls and/or Zimmerman or Bavius Machines

• Makino/Mag experience

• High school diploma or equivalent  

• Mechanical aptitude and strong work ethic  

• Ability to follow technical instructions and safety procedures  

• Willingness to learn CNC machining, shop math (SAE & Metric), and precision measurement tools
