Power Critical Financial Decisions in the Aviation Industry
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to support a leading aviation organization through its military engine program operations. This is a fully remote, 12-month consulting opportunity where your expertise in financial reporting, SAP data analytics, and program accounting will directly influence high-impact defense and aerospace decisions.
In this role, you will support the Aerospace Military Engine Program Office in Windsor Locks, CT, partnering closely with the Military Engine Finance Manager. You’ll play a key role in monthly close processes, forecasting, contract close-outs, and financial compliance activities that ensure accuracy, transparency, and mission readiness.
What You’ll Do
As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial insights and supporting complex government contracting requirements. Your day-to-day work will include:
Supporting the contract close-out process for military programs, including process improvement initiatives for future-state procedures
Extracting, analyzing, and managing large datasets from SAP to document financial close-out activities
Executing monthly and quarterly close processes, including journal entries, forecasting, and variance analysis
Delivering financial reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis to support business decisions
Partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, accurate financial data and issue resolution
Supporting government accounting requirements, including DCMA/DCAA audits and internal compliance reviews
Ensuring 100% compliance with SOX controls, including documentation and testing of key financial processes
Communicating financial insights clearly to stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant finance/accounting experience, OR
Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, OR
In lieu of a degree, 9+ years of relevant experience
Strong experience working with SAP and large financial datasets
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
Experience in government contracting and compliance environments
Strong understanding of financial close processes and variance analysis
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or regulated industries
Familiarity with DCMA/DCAA audit processes
Background in program finance or military/government program support
Experience driving process improvements in financial reporting systems

Pay Details: $64.18 per hour
