PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to hire a skilled Tech Support Specialist for a full-time, 6-month contract opportunity in Annapolis, MD. As a Senior Network Operations Center Technician, you’ll support the Tier 2 CAS Network Operations Center (NOC), helping maintain high-availability systems that power essential aviation communications. Your work will directly support customers, business units, and networks that operate around the clock across the globe.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will help monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize complex network systems, including:

• Monitoring network management systems and coordinating with telecom providers to restore service quickly
• Tracking incidents accurately and updating the incident management system in real time
• Diagnosing and resolving systems and network issues with limited to moderate complexity
• Supporting high-availability IP networks, messaging systems, and air-to-ground data communication systems
• Troubleshooting performance issues and escalating critical incidents when necessary
• Assisting senior team members with moderate to complex service-impacting issues
• Participating in network solution design, deployment, configuration, and maintenance activities
• Developing tools and efficiencies to improve operations processes
• Providing customers with clear technical guidance and exceptional support
• Managing multiple priorities in a 24/7/365 operations center environment
• Training across three NOC functional areas:
  • Transport: Routers, switches, firewalls, circuits, and global network components
  • DataLink: Ground stations, radios, and central communication systems
  • Applications: Central channels handling millions of daily messages

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree (AA/AS) or other 2-year post-high school training with 1–2 years of relevant experience
  OR High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of related experience
• Network+ Certification
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols
• Understanding of computer hardware/software interconnection and interfacing
• Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM concepts and practices
• Experience troubleshooting Cisco devices
• Experience with HSRP/BGP routing protocols
• Strong multitasking, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• High attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• CCNA Certification
• Experience with Remedy, Netcool, Office 365, and ServiceNow
• Previous Network Operations Center (NOC) experience
• Experience supporting 24/7 critical systems environments
