What You’ll Do

As a Quality Engineer, you will serve as a key resource for integrating quality requirements into program execution, supplier management, and production readiness.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead integration of contractual and Quality Management System requirements into proposals, processes, and documentation.
  • Interpret complex engineering, supplier, and regulatory quality requirements.
  • Develop quality metrics, certification plans, and compliance strategies for major programs.
  • Support supplier selection activities by establishing quality criteria and evaluating readiness.
  • Conduct design, production, and readiness reviews to ensure quality attributes are built into products and processes.
  • Develop and select methods for audits, testing, and analysis to support manufacturing excellence.
  • Investigate non-conformances, manage NCR queues, and drive timely closure activities.
  • Analyze trends to assess corrective action effectiveness and implement lasting solutions.
  • Recommend process improvements and cost-of-poor-quality reductions.
  • Maintain traceable quality records, certifications, and audit evidence.
  • Escalate program risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision while influencing cross-functional teams.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first few months, you will:

  • Quickly gain understanding of contractual quality requirements and present an initial execution plan.
  • Take ownership of assigned NCR queues and drive closure progress within 30 days.
  • Help reduce or stabilize critical NCR backlogs.
  • Maintain strong compliance performance with no critical audit findings.
  • Deliver clear, timely weekly updates and proactive risk escalations.
  • Demonstrate confident, independent decision-making aligned with quality systems and contract requirements.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, production, or manufacturing environments.
  • 5+ years handling Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective action processes.
  • 5+ years of statistical analysis, data collection, and interpretation experience.
  • 5+ years working within compliance-driven procedures and regulated environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and leadership teams.
  • Proven ability to work independently and make sound risk-based quality decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry is valued.
  • 9+ years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree, 7+ years with Master’s, or 4+ years with PhD.

Pay Details: $63.20 per hour
