PDS Tech Commercial is hiring Lead Project Engineers to support a global leader in the energy industry, working on advanced power generation technologies that are driving a cleaner, more reliable future. In this role, you’ll sit at the intersection of engineering excellence, customer collaboration, and project execution—where your technical leadership directly influences performance, delivery, and outcomes on high-visibility projects across the Americas.

At a Glance

  • Location: Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite. Hiring for two locations:

    • Greenville, SC

    • Schenectady, NY

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday | Day Shift (8:00 AM–5:00 PM; flexibility available)

  • Pay Rate: $60.00/hr


What You’ll Do

As a Lead Project Engineer, you’ll provide technical project leadership from contract through execution, serving as the primary technical point of contact for customers and cross‑functional teams.

You will:

  • Lead and coordinate engineering activities across multiple organizations, including Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC), Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Field Services

  • Act as the single technical liaison for customer inquiries, scope changes, and contractual requirements

  • Drive technical decision‑making that impacts project cost, schedule, and performance

  • Review contract documentation and translate requirements into actionable engineering deliverables

  • Support and lead Customer Kickoff Meetings (CKOMs), Design Liaison Meetings (DLMs), and ongoing technical reviews

  • Manage engineering budgets, schedules, and quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) reporting

  • Evaluate and implement customer-requested changes through formal change management processes

  • Mitigate technical risks, resolve cross‑functional engineering challenges, and prevent delivery delays

  • Capture lessons learned and feed continuous improvement back into design and engineering teams

  • Present project status, risks, and resolution plans to senior leadership


What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Project Engineering, Design Engineering, and/or Field Engineering

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated leadership presence

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment

  • Willingness to travel approximately 10–15%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Customer‑facing engineering experience

  • Experience with GTCC / PLM systems

  • Knowledge of plant system design, manufacturing, assembly, installation, or testing

  • Demonstrated problem‑solving ability and continuous improvement mindset

  • Experience working across global or cross‑regional engineering teams

Pay Details: $60.00 per hour
