Location: Apple Grove, WV | Schedule: 1st shift; 8am to 5pm | Payrate: $34 - $40/hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the steel manufacturing industry to hire a dynamic IT Operations Team Lead. This contract-to-hire opportunity (6–12 months) puts you at the forefront of infrastructure, application support, and digital transformation—leading teams that keep critical systems running while accelerating AI and automation initiatives. Your leadership will directly impact operational efficiency, innovation, and safety in a high-performance industrial environment.
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day
You’ll lead from the front—balancing hands-on technical oversight with team leadership and strategic execution:
Lead and guide both the Infrastructure Team and Application Support Analyst Team
Partner closely with IT leadership to ensure infrastructure and application needs are met
Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring system reliability, performance, and uptime
Drive project delivery, including planning, execution, and prioritization of key initiatives
Play a key role in advancing AI and automation efforts across the organization
Coach, mentor, and develop team members to maximize performance and growth
Establish clear goals, manage workloads, and ensure accountability across the team
Address technical and operational challenges, resolving issues efficiently
Foster a culture of collaboration, trust, and continuous improvement
Champion and enforce safety practices, ensuring compliance with all policies and standards
What You Bring to the Table
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and application support
Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, and network systems
Proven project management experience with the ability to deliver results
Demonstrated leadership skills, including coaching and developing team members
Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a focus on prioritization
Ability to lead through change, address challenges directly, and drive accountability
Commitment to maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field
Experience working in large, complex organizational environments
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Experience supporting or implementing AI and automation initiatives
