PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a premier aviation and aerospace leader to support cutting?edge Launch Systems programs. We’re seeking an Engineering Technician 2 to join the Structural Test team in Chandler, AZ. In this hands?on role, your work directly supports the development, testing, and validation of launch vehicle structures—helping ensure mission success, safety, and reliability.

What You’ll Do

As an Engineering Technician, you will be immersed in the heart of structural testing, collaborating closely with engineers and fellow technicians to bring complex test programs to life.

• Provide technical support in the Structural Test Bay for launch vehicle programs
• Build, assemble, test, document, and tear down structural static load tests
• Support the assembly of fixtures and test setups; assist with test setup design as needed
• Work from engineering drawings, schematics, work packages, and data recording systems
• Perform hands?on mechanical work ranging from fine detail tasks to large, heavy assemblies
• Ensure adherence to safety and personnel protection policies
• Respond effectively in dynamic, fast?changing test environments
• Communicate clearly with cross?functional team members to ensure accuracy and quality
• Occasionally support overtime needs (less than 10%)

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2 years of additional education and/or relevant experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands?on problem?solving skills
• Experience working with engineering drawings, schematics, and work packages
• Proficiency with hand tools and basic computer applications (MS Office)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with large, heavy objects
• Positive attitude; vocal contributor and team?oriented mindset
• Ability to balance technical, schedule, cost, and resource demands
• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S, Costpoint, and MES
• Experience with pressurized hydraulic systems
• Forklift certification or experience
• Crane operations and overhead lifting of large, heavy objects (e.g., structural steel)
• Soldering experience
• Instrumentation experience, including strain gages and linear displacement transducers
