Pay Rate: $35.71 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to hire skilled Assembly Mechanics who take pride in precision and craftsmanship. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with critical aircraft structures and systems—ensuring every component meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. Your expertise will directly contribute to building and maintaining aircraft that keep the world connected.
This is more than assembly—it’s precision engineering in action. Your day-to-day will include:
Assemble, install, seal, rig, and inspect structural and system components using detailed specifications and engineering drawings
Perform functional testing to ensure proper fit, form, and function of assemblies
Interpret blueprints, sketches, work instructions, and technical documents to execute tasks accurately
Use shop math and precision measuring tools to verify work quality
Operate and maintain tooling and equipment used in assembly processes
Identify and document discrepancies, ensuring all work meets engineering and quality standards
Conduct basic preventative maintenance on machines and equipment
Move materials and components within the production area and complete required system transactions
Meet production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards
Support continuous workflow by assisting and training team members
Cross-train in inspection processes and work toward SIA qualification
Specialty Areas May Include:
Structural assembly and installation
Sealing (including integral fuel cell sealing)
Sub-assembly and precision bench assembly
Doors installation
Pressure and vacuum testing
Required Qualifications:
Experience in mechanical or structural assembly, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and shop mathematics
Hands-on experience with assembly tools and equipment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CNC or automated fastening equipment (less than 3-axis movement)
Background in aircraft structures, sealing, or systems installation
Familiarity with pressure/vacuum testing processes
Previous experience training or mentoring team members
