Electronic Systems Design & Analysis Engineer

Description:

Electronic Systems Design & Analysis Engineer (Everett, WA)

Shape the Future of Commercial Aviation Through Advanced Aircraft Systems Engineering

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global leader in aerospace innovation to support the next generation of commercial aircraft technology. We are seeking an Electronic Systems Design and Analysis Engineer to contribute directly to the development, integration, and certification of advanced network systems on the 787 program in Everett, Washington.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of software, electrical systems, and aircraft integration—helping transform customer requirements into safe, reliable, and high-performance airborne network architectures that operate at scale across a world-class fleet.

Role Summary & Impact

In this role, you will play a key part in the design, development, testing, and sustainment of electronic and software-based network systems used across commercial aircraft platforms. Your work will directly influence system reliability, aircraft performance, and passenger connectivity experiences on the 787 fleet.

You will contribute across the full product lifecycle—from early concept development and system definition through certification, production, delivery, and in-service support—ensuring compliance, safety, and operational excellence in one of the most advanced aerospace environments in the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and document moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements for aircraft network systems
  • Design software and interface specifications aligned with aircraft architecture and customer needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams and airline customers to define and refine system and interface requirements
  • Create software scripts to automate testing procedures, validation, and system analysis
  • Test and validate system designs to ensure they meet functional, operational, and certification requirements
  • Support airplane installation design and certification efforts for network systems on commercial aircraft programs
  • Engage with airline stakeholders to understand operational use cases and system expectations
  • Maintain configuration matrices for aircraft customer configurations and system architectures
  • Support engineering releases related to airplane definitions, options, and production changes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues across the full product lifecycle
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance requirements are met
  • Research emerging technologies for potential application in future aerospace systems

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related technical field) from an accredited institution
  • 1–3 years of software engineering or systems engineering experience
  • Understanding of software development principles and ability to identify issues in technical documentation
  • Ability to work within complex system environments involving hardware/software integration
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python scripting for automation or testing
  • Experience with ENOVIA PDM or similar product data management tools
  • Exposure to aerospace, avionics, or complex embedded systems environments
  • Experience supporting system validation, integration, or certification activities
  • Familiarity with configuration management and engineering release processes
