As a Packaging Engineering Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring aerospace materials are stored, protected, and transported safely and efficiently across global operations. From optimizing warehouse layouts to ensuring compliance with hazardous materials regulations, your expertise will directly impact cost efficiency, safety, and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
In this multifaceted engineering role, you will:
Evaluate equipment features and develop cost-effective recommendations with clear technical justification
Research and support procurement of material handling and packaging equipment, including supplier evaluation
Develop and optimize packaging solutions for storage and global distribution
Design warehouse material flow, layouts, and storage strategies to maximize efficiency and reduce costs
Analyze logistics operations using established policies and ensure compliance with domestic and international regulations
Calculate storage requirements, equipment needs, and space utilization for high-performance warehouse operations
Support HM-232 Hazardous Materials Security Plan implementation, training, and compliance
Maintain calibration and property control processes through coordination with metrology teams
Prepare budgets, process billing, and justify capital expenditures related to packaging and handling equipment
Provide walk-through support and training to ensure employee awareness of hazardous materials safety requirements
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or some college in a technical field
6+ years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience with industrial packaging (aerospace or automotive preferred)
Strong understanding of warehouse operations and material flow
Experience using multiple systems for data analysis and process management
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with dangerous goods and transportation regulations
Background in logistics optimization and packaging design for global distribution
Familiarity with equipment procurement and capital budgeting processes
Experience supporting compliance with federal and international shipping regulations

Pay Details: $47.17 per hour
