Role Summary

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Tool & Fixture Specialist to support a leading innovator in the aviation industry in North Charleston, SC. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for building, assembling, repairing, and maintaining tools and fixtures that directly support advanced aerospace manufacturing operations.

Your work ensures production teams have the precision tooling needed to manufacture high-quality aircraft components safely, efficiently, and to exact specifications. This is a critical support role where craftsmanship, attention to detail, and problem-solving directly impact aviation production success.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine tool setup activities to support manufacturing operations
• Manufacture, assemble, and fabricate tools, fixtures, and support equipment
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on tooling and related equipment
• Operate factory support equipment to move materials, tools, and fixtures safely and efficiently
• Provide tooling support to production and engineering teams across departments
• Assist in determining fabrication and assembly processes for new tooling designs
• Support reverse engineering efforts to replicate and improve existing parts and fixtures
• Ensure tools and fixtures meet quality, safety, and performance standards
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve tooling issues quickly and effectively

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1+ year of related work experience in tooling, machining, fabrication, or manufacturing support
  OR equivalent combination of education and vocational/technical training (Associate degree or trade school)
• Basic understanding of mechanical tools, fabrication methods, and manufacturing processes
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and process documentation
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
• Ability to work 3rd shift schedule with some overtime as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with tooling fabrication, assembly, or fixture design support
• Experience with reverse engineering processes or part replication
• Mechanical aptitude with hands-on machining or fabrication experience
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a production setting

• Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract (6 Months)
• Location: North Charleston, SC
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3rd Shift (Start times: 10:00 PM–6:30 AM or 9:30 PM–6:00 AM)
• Pay Rate: Starting at  $30.77 per hour
