Summary:
Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs) for electronic systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and performance requirements
Collaborate with internal Boeing teams and external customers to define and refine design requirements throughout the development lifecycle
Define PCB stack-up, electrical characteristics, component selection, and perform design trade-off analyses for Printed Wiring Assemblies (PWAs)
Develop project schedules, cost estimates, and resource plans in coordination with program management
Create schematics and PCB layouts using tools such as Siemens Xpedition
Conduct design reviews and provide actionable feedback to improve system performance and reliability
Perform signal integrity and thermal analysis using Siemens HyperLynx
Partner with hardware and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, reliable, and cost-effective
Generate and maintain detailed design documentation, including schematics, layout files, assembly instructions, and test plans
Support prototype builds, testing, and debugging, resolving issues during development and validation phases
Contribute to sustaining engineering efforts for existing PCB and system-level products
Stay current with advancements in PCB design tools, technologies, and industry best practices
Requirements:
Ability to obtain clearance
Bachelor s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical) or related field (Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, etc.)
5+ years of experience in PCB design, assembly, verification, debugging, and troubleshooting
Proficiency in circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout using Mentor Graphics or similar tools
Experience with high-speed interfaces and protocols such as DDR3/DDR4, PCIe, I2C, SPI/QSPI, and JTAG
Working knowledge of hardware description languages such as VHDL and Verilog
Strong skills in simulation, modeling, and electronic system analysis
Must be a U.S. citizen to comply with security clearance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in PCB design and hardware development
Advanced expertise in VHDL/Verilog
Deep understanding of high-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR, I2C, SPI, QSPI)
Experience with FPGA design and development tools
Strong communication skills for effectively conveying technical concepts to cross-functional teams and stakeholders
