Job Type: Full-Time | 6+ Month Consultant Assignment (High possibility of extension)
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to bring on an experienced Assembly Mechanic – Fuselage I4. In this high-impact role, you will be at the heart of aircraft production—assembling, installing, and validating critical structural and system components that ensure performance, safety, and reliability.

As an Assembly Mechanic, you will take ownership of complex assembly operations, including:
Assembling, installing, sealing, rigging, and inspecting aircraft structural and system components
Working from blueprints, process specifications, and technical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance
Performing functional testing and ensuring fit, form, and function of assemblies
Using precision measuring tools, shop mathematics, and test instruments to complete assignments
Operating conventional and/or CNC fastening equipment (up to less than 3-axis movement)
Verifying completed work meets engineering and quality standards; identifying and resolving discrepancies
Performing routine preventative maintenance on tools and equipment
Moving products within the manufacturing area and completing required production transactions
Supporting production flow by assisting and training team members across skill levels
Cross-training in inspection processes and working toward SIA qualification
Specialty Work May Include:
Structural assembly and installation
Sealing operations (including integral fuel cell sealing)
Doors and sub-assembly installation
Precision bench assembly
Pressure and vacuum testing
Required Qualifications:
10 years of experience in aerospace assembly or related field
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and shop mathematics
Experience with structural assembly, sealing, and installation processes
Ability to operate assembly tooling and fastening equipment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CNC or automated fastening systems
Background in fuel cell sealing, pressure/vacuum testing, or precision bench assembly
Previous experience training or mentoring team members
SIA qualification or willingness to obtain
