PDS Tech Commercial, in partnership with a global leader in the aviation industry is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join its Spares Engineering Design team supporting aviation Global Services. Role Summary & Impact
As a Structural Engineer in Spares Engineering Design, you will perform advanced structural analysis at the subcomponent level to ensure compliance with strict aerospace structural integrity standards. You will be instrumental in developing engineering solutions for obsolescent parts and supplier-driven challenges across global portfolio.
Your work directly supports aircraft safety, operational continuity, and cost-effective lifecycle management—helping keep fleets in service worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis at the subcomponent level to ensure full compliance with structural integrity requirements
Develop engineering solutions for obsolete or problematic parts across a broad aviation portfolio
Review and approve structural analysis deliverables
Guide and mentor less experienced engineers, providing technical leadership
Collaborate closely with project engineers, stress analysts, suppliers, and procurement teams
Represent the engineering team in direct supplier interactions and technical discussions
Coordinate with cross-functional engineering groups to ensure requirements are met
Develop and improve analytical processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and effectiveness
Support design release processes, tooling issues, and supplier-driven engineering changes
Interpret and apply industry and company standards, policies, and procedures
Utilize engineering tools such as CATIA V5, ENOVIA, STEALTH, QMAP, REDARS, ETAC, ESPEC, Bridge, and others
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering
8+ years of experience in Structures and/or Payload Design Engineering (DE)
5+ years of experience in a commercial aircraft environment
Strong knowledge of design release processes, policies, procedures, and supplier-driven changes
Experience with 2D & 3D design and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of Design Engineering experience in a commercial aircraft environment
5+ years of experience in production, sub-components, or spares engineering
1+ year of experience leading or mentoring engineering teams
Strong background in resolving tooling issues and managing engineering changes
Schedule & Compensation
Job Type: Full-Time Contract (12 months)
Location: Long Beach, CA Long Beach
Schedule: Monday–Friday, First Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Pay Rate: Starting at $55.17 per hour
Attendance: Regular and predictable attendance required

Pay Details: $55.17 per hour
