Job Type: Full Time; Consultant (6 Months)
Location: Manhattan Beach, CA
Schedule: 1st Shift (3/10) Weekend Shift – Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Pay Rate: $22 per hour
Experience: 2–5 Years
As a Microelectronic Technician supporting a semiconductor fab, you will be a key contributor to tool uptime, engineering collaboration, and equipment reliability. Your work ensures that mission‑critical fabrication tools operate at peak performance to support both production and innovative research.
Daily Responsibilities Include:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of semiconductor equipment including steppers, evaporators, sputters, implanters, etchers, coaters/developers, and dicing saws.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and basic software/control issues on both legacy and custom tools.
Partner with engineers, researchers, and tool owners to quickly diagnose and resolve equipment issues in a dynamic Production/R&D environment.
Log maintenance activities, downtime, and parts usage in internal systems.
Support tool installations, upgrades, and decommissioning, while coordinating with vendors and facilities teams.
Monitor and order critical spare parts, consumables, and safety components.
Follow all cleanroom and safety protocols, ensuring tools meet cleanliness, calibration, and operational standards.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at maximizing tool uptime and maintenance efficiency.
High school diploma or GED
2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or related technical trade
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical drawings
Familiarity with vacuum pumps, gas systems, and cleanroom procedures
Comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced environment with frequent tool changeovers
US Citizenship (required)
Associate degree or technical training in Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related field
Experience with legacy semiconductor tools and both wet and dry processes
Exposure to low‑volume, high‑mix R&D or prototyping environments
Basic understanding of semiconductor fabrication process flows
Knowledge of safety protocols involving chemicals, gases, and high‑voltage systems
