PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aviation organization to hire a motivated and detail-driven Buyer Associate in Chula Vista, CA. Role Summary & Impact

As a Buyer Associate, you will support the sourcing and acquisition of materials critical to aerospace operations. From placing purchase orders to tracking deliveries and supporting supplier communications, your work ensures that production stays on track and resources are available when and where they’re needed.

You’ll collaborate with experienced buyers and cross-functional teams, gaining hands-on experience in procurement processes that directly support aviation manufacturing and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Place and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
• Confirm order receipts and maintain up-to-date delivery information
• Monitor supplier deliveries, expedite orders, and update delivery schedules as needed
• Maintain detailed documentation in business systems (delivery commitments, forecasts, shipment tracking, etc.)
• Attend meetings and provide delivery updates to internal stakeholders
• Perform Excel-based data updates, including mass updates using scripts
• Consolidate reports between suppliers and internal systems
• Support Senior Buyers with procurement activities and administrative tasks
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams to ensure alignment

This is a hybrid role based in Chula Vista, CA (91910), with 4 days onsite and 1 day remote (Friday).

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
• 0–1 year of professional experience (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and navigate ambiguity
• This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
• Exposure to supply chain, procurement, or purchasing processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate across multiple levels of an organization
