PDS Tech Commercial is hiring an experienced Design Engineer to join a dynamic Steam Power Services Engineering team. As a Design Engineer, you’ll be a trusted technical leader supporting complex service and repair activities. Every day brings meaningful, challenging work, including:
Deliver expert technical guidance during outage planning and execution for industrial, fossil, and nuclear steam turbines.
Lead complex repair engineering on rotors, diaphragms, valves, casings, and other critical turbine components.
Serve as the central technical interface for repair projects—partnering with sourcing, quality, field services, sales, and engineering teams.
Own and deliver key engineering project milestones, ensuring on‑time, safe, and high-quality outcomes.
Act as Project Engineering Manager for turbine upgrades, capital parts, valve solutions, and engineering studies.
Support and lead root cause analyses, develop corrective/preventative actions, and resolve product/process non‑conformances.
Provide inspection and test plans for disassembly, assembly, and repair operations.
Participate in design reviews, first‑of‑a-kind qualifications, and technical risk discussions—often directly with customers.
Mentor peers, support continuous improvement, and champion safety, quality, delivery, and cost initiatives.
Travel domestically (approx. 5–10%) for customer site engagements.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of steam turbine service engineering experience.
2+ years of hands‑on field execution experience (power generation strongly preferred).
Proven abilities in Root Cause Analysis, technical problem-solving, and engineering project execution.
Experience with CATIA or similar CAD drafting tools.
Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Solid understanding of steam turbine systems, balance of plant operations, and component inspection/repair methods.
Experience with turbine disassembly, assembly, start-ups, and operational behaviors.
