Catia V5 Designated Checker

Description:
The CATIA V5 Designated Checker is responsible for reviewing and validating engineering drawings and models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining design integrity and preventing downstream manufacturing or quality issues.


Key Responsibilities:
Review 2D drawings and 3D models created in CATIA V5 for accuracy, clarity, and completeness
Verify compliance with company drafting standards, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and applicable industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO)
Ensure all dimensions, tolerances, notes, and annotations are correctly applied and fully defined
Cross-check drawings against 3D models, specifications, and engineering requirements
Identify and document discrepancies, errors, or omissions and communicate required corrections to design engineers
Confirm proper configuration control, revision history, and drawing release processes are followed
Validate bill of materials (BOM) consistency with associated drawings and assemblies
Support audits and quality assurance activities related to engineering documentation
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve design issues


Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in GD&T or drafting standards
Experience in aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing industries
Familiarity with PLM systems (SmarTeam and Teamcenter)
Prior experience as a designated or authorized drawing checker
