Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract opportunity in Palmdale, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): • Secret security clearance. Ability to obtain SAP within 6 weeks of submission. • Minimum 3 year experience with 3DX usage • Minimum 10 year cumulatively working with structural assembly / fabrication tools for aerospace vehicles or similar • Highly proficient in GD&T and blueprint reading Familiar with Client processes and procedures • Development/ protype/ first article, program support (new product introduction) • Metallic part machining working knowledge
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: •Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and author manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. •Leverages understanding of materials and processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. •Evaluates performance of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. •Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. •Works within a model based engineering environment (3DX). Position requires periodic travel.
