As a Mechanical Design Engineer III, you will:
Deliver highly accurate 2D & 3D finite element analyses for gas turbine rotors using ANSYS
Conduct advanced post-processing, including:
LCF crack initiation & propagation analysis
Fracture mechanics evaluations
Bolted joint behavior & rotor strength assessments
Retrieve, interpret, and refine CAD models from PLM systems
Develop and optimize models in Siemens NX
Synthesize analytical findings into clear technical documentation
Support process improvements and automation with Python
Perform defect assessments backed by rigorous engineering analysis
Present project progress confidently during routine status updates
Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
6+ years of mechanical/structural engineering experience
Deep technical proficiency in:
3D CAD modeling
ANSYS FEA
Rotor design & structural analysis
Low cycle fatigue (LCF)
Fracture mechanics
Siemens NX
Microsoft Office
Experience with Python automation to streamline engineering workflows
