Summary:
Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies across departments according to production/shipping schedules.
Review production schedules and consult with department supervisors to determine material needs and locate overdue items.
Requisition, organize, and deliver materials according to job priorities and anticipated availability.
Arrange in-plant material transfers to meet production schedules and facilitate repair/assembly.
Inspect delivered materials for accuracy, type, and condition.
Monitor material movement via conveyor systems and compute quantities needed for specific job orders.
Maintain inventory records manually or via computerized systems, including production, employee, and material tracking.
Prepare, consolidate, and issue materials, parts kits, hazardous material kits, tooling kits, and storage-ready items.
Operate hand tools, barcode readers, packing/banding equipment, and material handling equipment (forklifts, hoists, cranes, tow motors).
Fabricate special containers for shipment per company/customer specifications.
Conduct periodic inventory checks, document discrepancies, and report damage or deterioration.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, tool control, FOD, and housekeeping regulations.
Analyze production schedules to ensure sufficient material availability; investigate and resolve complex material or inventory issues.
Perform other duties as directed by management.
Requirements:
Ability to obtain security clearance.
2 3 years of stockroom, warehouse, or crib procedures experience.
Experience with warehouse or material handling equipment.
Rotating shift availability.
3+ years working with computer-based inventory or warehouse management systems.
1+ year managing Government property: acquisition, receiving, identification, movement, disposition, contract closeout, subcontractor control, and physical inventory.
Competent with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Regular and predictable attendance.
Lift up to 35 lbs; occasional 2-person lifts over 50 lbs.
Frequent walking, standing, balancing, climbing ladders (3 12 ft), and overhead reaching.
Ability to work in confined spaces, on elevated platforms, and perform finger manipulation tasks.
Use of PPE for face, eyes, ears, hands, and arms; handle and dispose of hazardous materials.
Pass visual acuity and color perception tests.
Exposure to noise, metals, and various environmental conditions.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
