Consultant Role – 12 Months | Pay rate: $55.00 - $69.00/ hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Design and Analysis Engineer to support one of the most innovative and respected aviation companies in the world. In this role, you will directly impact the design, performance, and safety of advanced aerospace systems while collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry.
As a Mechanical Systems Design and Analysis Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and validating essential mechanical and fluid systems. Your work will influence major programs and ensure alignment with stringent performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the development and documentation of mechanical, fluid, and thermal system requirements to inform system design.
Creating, maintaining, or modifying component and installation designs to generate high-quality documentation for downstream engineering and manufacturing teams.
Performing analyses to validate and verify that components and systems meet all required specifications.
Contributing to supplier development activities, test programs, production troubleshooting, and system integration efforts.
Reviewing supplier designs, managing non-conformances, and participating in technical design reviews.
Documenting processes, specifications, and procedures to support the manufacturing of mechanical parts and assemblies.
Training peers and sharing engineering best practices.
Working under general direction with opportunities for significant technical ownership.
You will be hands-on in:
Developing detailed mechanical system component designs using industry-standard tools.
Evaluating analytical results and supporting detailed design reviews.
Collaborating with suppliers to ensure alignment, resolve issues, and drive program success.
Preparing documentation that supports both design intent and manufacturability.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience,
or Master’s degree with 3+ years,
or PhD with applicable engineering experience.

Typically 6–10 years overall engineering experience.
Proven experience in mechanical design and system integration.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
