PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the steel manufacturing industry to hire an IT Technician for the Infrastructure Team. In this role, you will serve as the front line of technical support, ensuring teammates across the organization stay connected, productive, and supported. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with people, and building a strong foundation in IT. 

MUST be available to work following schedule:

Rotating Schedule every 10 weeks:

6 weeks of 1st shift – 6AM – 3PM or 6AM – 5PM depending on 8 hr or 10 hr shift

3 weeks on 2nd shift – 1PM – 10PM or 11AM depending on 8 hr or 10 hr shift

1 week on 3rd shift – 10PM – 6AM working remote from home

1 weekend shift working day 6AM – 6PM remotely

1 weekend shift working nights 6PM-6AM remotely

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day 

• Manage and resolve IT help desk requests via calls, emails, chats, and ticketing systems 

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including diagnostics and problem resolution 

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users, explaining issues and solutions clearly 

• Escalate complex technical issues to Tier 2 support teams when needed 

• Perform account management tasks such as password resets, account unlocks, and user verification 

• Follow established IT procedures, standards, and best practices 

• Assist with IT projects and initiatives as needed 

• Participate in an on-call rotation to support urgent after-hours issues 

• Uphold and promote safety policies, procedures, and standards at all times 

What You Bring 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• High school diploma required; associate degree in a related field preferred 

• Ability to quickly learn new skills within the first 90 days 

• Strong customer service skills and a user-first mindset 

• 1–2 years of help desk and/or customer support experience preferred 

• Basic understanding of IT concepts, including WAN/LAN and networking fundamentals 

• Experience with Microsoft Office applications 

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and personal accountability 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

• Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and active listening skills 

• Self-starter with the ability to stay motivated independently 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs 

• Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation
