Principal Specialist, Accounting & Controllership – Drive Financial Excellence with a Leader in the aviation Industry
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a knowledgeable and detail driven Principal Specialist, Accounting and Controllership to support our client, a respected leader in the aviation industry. This hybrid role places you at the center of critical financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and operational integrity across the Windsor Locks facility and its aftermarket spares activities.
As a Principal Specialist in Accounting and Controllership, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial health and reporting accuracy of the organization. Your work supports essential financial controls, enhances operational transparency and helps drive informed decision making across the business.
This is a full time, 12 month consultant position based in Windsor Locks, CT with a hybrid schedule.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00AM–5:00PM
Pay Rate: $40.59 per hour
In this role, you will manage core accounting operations and ensure compliance with internal controls and reporting standards. Key responsibilities include:
Prepare and maintain accounting and reporting for Windsor Locks facilities and aftermarket spares activities.
Ensure accurate accumulation, classification and maintenance of accounting data.
Support general ledger activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
Perform auditing and analysis of financial information to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Reconcile and consolidate accounting details, including accounts payable, collections and credit items.
Support government accounting compliance and fixed assets management.
Create and process accounts payable invoices.
Contribute to the maintenance of financial controls and accounting standards across the organization.
Assist with general accounting and month end processes as needed.
Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Accounting).
Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial controls.
Experience with accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliations and accrual processes.
Ability to analyze and consolidate financial data with high attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Capability to work on a hybrid schedule, including onsite presence on Tuesdays, plus additional in office days Monday–Thursday as needed.
Experience in accounting roles involving manufacturing, operations or aftermarket activities.
Familiarity with government accounting, fixed assets and controls.
Strong analytical skills and comfort with complex reconciliation tasks.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively to multiple stakeholders.
